Prototype Design of Clean Water Distribution Control System Based on Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) and Android

Abstract

This research proposes the application of a Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller as a solution to overcome this problem. By controlling water flow in real-time, it is hoped that it can overcome the problem of unequal water distribution that often occurs, as well as increasing the efficiency of water use. In this system, data from the flow meter is then processed by the NodeMCU ESP8266 using the PID algorithm to determine the optimal position of the servo motor. The servo motor installed on the water tap functions to regulate the valve opening in the pipe according to the control signal produced by the PID. NodeMCU ESP8266 is also equipped with a Wi-Fi module to enable system monitoring and control via the Android application.

  • Rachmat Zulfikar Widyananda, Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya

    Obtained a D3 degree in airport electrical engineering from the Surabaya Civil Aviation Polytechnic. During college, I have studied airport engineering, focusing on airfield lighting, air conditioning systems and distribution transmission at airports. I have participated in various projects at airports during On The Job Training for 6 months at H. Hasan Aeroboesman Ende Airport and Supadio International Airport Pontianak. After graduating, I will work at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Transportation. 

  • Rifdian Indrianto Sudjoko, Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya
    He was born on June 29, 1981. He once served as a lecturer with the additional task of head of the airport electrical engineering study program at the Surabaya Aviation Polytechnic. He served for quite a long time before finally moving to become the head of the research and community service center until now.
  • Lady Silk Moonlight, Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya
    She was born in Surabaya, Indonesia, in 1987. She received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Informatics Engineering from Trunojoyo University in 2009 and a Master of Engineering degree in Informatics from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2013. Her research interests include information technology, artificial intelligence, information systems, computer science, digital image processing, and computer networks. She is a lecturer at D3 Aeronautical Communication, Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya, Indonesia.
