Articles on December 2025
Vol. 3 No. 4 (2025)The present journal issue brings together seven scholarly articles that collectively reflect the ongoing advancement of digital transformation within the aviation sector. As editor, it is with great interest that we present this compilation, which highlights innovative applications of web-based information systems designed to address both operational and service-oriented challenges in airport environments.
The contributions in this issue demonstrate a strong methodological foundation, with authors employing established development frameworks such as Research and Development (R&D), ADDIE, the 4D model, and Rapid Application Development (RAD). This methodological rigor underscores the academic quality of the works while ensuring that the proposed systems are systematically designed, validated, and aligned with real-world needs.
A prominent theme across several articles is the modernization of aviation security operations through the digitalization of logbook systems. These studies respond to persistent inefficiencies associated with manual recording practices, offering web-based solutions that enhance data accuracy, accessibility, and transparency. Such innovations are particularly significant in strengthening the reliability and effectiveness of aviation security (AVSEC) processes.
In addition to operational improvements, this issue also highlights advancements in passenger-centered services. The development of airport mapping systems and facility information platforms demonstrates how digital tools can improve navigation, accessibility, and overall user experience. Notably, several contributions extend beyond core airport functions by integrating tourism-related information, thereby supporting regional development and promoting local destinations.
The issue further explores the role of information systems in administrative and commercial contexts, as evidenced by the development of a tenant management system. This work illustrates how digital platforms can streamline administrative workflows, improve service responsiveness, and contribute to sustainability initiatives through reduced reliance on paper-based processes.
Complementing these applied system developments, one article addresses the educational dimension of aviation through the design of a web-based learning platform for Dangerous Goods (DG). This contribution emphasizes the importance of technology-enhanced learning in improving comprehension and accessibility in specialized aviation training.
Overall, the seven articles presented in this issue collectively underscore the critical role of web-based information systems in shaping the future of airport operations and services. They reflect a broader movement toward smart airport ecosystems, where digital innovation serves as a key enabler of efficiency, safety, and service excellence. It is hoped that this collection will contribute meaningfully to both academic discourse and practical advancements in the field of aviation management and technology.

Articles on September 2025
Vol. 3 No. 3 (2025)The September 2025 issue of Appissode Journal: Application, Information System, and Software Development presents a strong collection of applied research that demonstrates the accelerating digital transformation within Indonesia’s aviation sector. The papers featured in this edition collectively highlight innovation in information systems, operational efficiency, and smart airport development—each contributing to the modernization of aviation management and vocational education.
The first article introduces a digitalization initiative for the routine activity reports of Aviation Security (AVSEC) units at Aji Pangeran Tumenggung Pranoto Airport, Samarinda. By leveraging Google Workspace as an integrated platform, the system automates data collection, validation, and report generation, significantly enhancing the accuracy, accessibility, and accountability of daily security operations. This research showcases how low-cost cloud tools can be customized to strengthen security documentation and workflow efficiency at airports.
The second article discusses the development of an Android-based online guidance application for students and supervisors at Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya. Using the Waterfall model, this system addresses challenges in academic documentation and supervision by providing scheduling, digital validation, and automated reporting features. The application received high feasibility ratings from both media and material experts, marking a significant step toward more efficient, transparent, and digitally documented academic processes in vocational institutions.
Continuing the theme of administrative innovation, the third paper presents a Google Sites–based tenant establishment permit system for A.P.T. Pranoto Samarinda Airport. Through the ADDIE development model, the study delivers a functional and user-friendly digital platform that simplifies business registration, document submission, and verification processes for prospective airport tenants. This approach not only streamlines licensing procedures but also aligns with the broader vision of a smart airport ecosystem.
The fourth study focuses on the design of a website-based daily inspection checklist system for the Terminal, Hygiene, and Sanitation Unit at Mutiara SIS Al-Jufri Palu Airport. Built using PHP Laravel and MySQL, the system enables real-time data entry, validation, and reporting of facility conditions. The implementation demonstrates substantial gains in efficiency, accuracy, and data traceability—replacing manual records with structured, accessible digital reports to support operational excellence in airport facility management.
Concluding the issue, the final paper details the design of a Lost and Found Reporting Website at Adi Soemarmo Airport, developed through the Prototype method. The platform allows passengers to report and track lost items online, offering enhanced transparency and convenience. Expert validation and user testing show high feasibility scores, confirming its effectiveness in improving passenger service quality and supporting digital transformation in airport customer relations.
