The September 2025 issue of Appissode Journal: Application, Information System, and Software Development presents a strong collection of applied research that demonstrates the accelerating digital transformation within Indonesia’s aviation sector. The papers featured in this edition collectively highlight innovation in information systems, operational efficiency, and smart airport development—each contributing to the modernization of aviation management and vocational education.

The first article introduces a digitalization initiative for the routine activity reports of Aviation Security (AVSEC) units at Aji Pangeran Tumenggung Pranoto Airport, Samarinda. By leveraging Google Workspace as an integrated platform, the system automates data collection, validation, and report generation, significantly enhancing the accuracy, accessibility, and accountability of daily security operations. This research showcases how low-cost cloud tools can be customized to strengthen security documentation and workflow efficiency at airports.

The second article discusses the development of an Android-based online guidance application for students and supervisors at Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya. Using the Waterfall model, this system addresses challenges in academic documentation and supervision by providing scheduling, digital validation, and automated reporting features. The application received high feasibility ratings from both media and material experts, marking a significant step toward more efficient, transparent, and digitally documented academic processes in vocational institutions.

Continuing the theme of administrative innovation, the third paper presents a Google Sites–based tenant establishment permit system for A.P.T. Pranoto Samarinda Airport. Through the ADDIE development model, the study delivers a functional and user-friendly digital platform that simplifies business registration, document submission, and verification processes for prospective airport tenants. This approach not only streamlines licensing procedures but also aligns with the broader vision of a smart airport ecosystem.

The fourth study focuses on the design of a website-based daily inspection checklist system for the Terminal, Hygiene, and Sanitation Unit at Mutiara SIS Al-Jufri Palu Airport. Built using PHP Laravel and MySQL, the system enables real-time data entry, validation, and reporting of facility conditions. The implementation demonstrates substantial gains in efficiency, accuracy, and data traceability—replacing manual records with structured, accessible digital reports to support operational excellence in airport facility management.

Concluding the issue, the final paper details the design of a Lost and Found Reporting Website at Adi Soemarmo Airport, developed through the Prototype method. The platform allows passengers to report and track lost items online, offering enhanced transparency and convenience. Expert validation and user testing show high feasibility scores, confirming its effectiveness in improving passenger service quality and supporting digital transformation in airport customer relations.

Collectively, these studies underscore a unified movement toward digital modernization in aviation operations, academic management, and public service systems. Each project exemplifies practical applications of information technology to improve efficiency, transparency, and user experience. This issue reflects the journal’s continuing commitment to advancing applied research that bridges the gap between technological innovation and service excellence in the aviation industry.
